Rabbit Skin Glue

400 Bloom/140 mP.s. Rabbit glue and strawberry ice cream have something in common. The ice cream is usually not made from strawberries, and this glue has never seen a rabbit. In the past, rabbit glue was produced from rabbit skins. Today, the glue only roughly resembles those properties and contains hardly any fat. This shortcoming can be counteracted by adding small amounts of beef tallow or linseed oil to the gesso. Rabbit glue has higher gel strength and viscosity compared to traditional hide glues. It is used in poliment recipes or as a glue mixture for gessos that are sprayed with a spray gun.

Wood-stain, soluble in alcohol (SP)

Instructions for use: Dissolve contents in 1 pint of 96% alcohol and stir vigorously. Apply staining solution evenly to smoothly sanded wood with a the aid of a soft flat brush. Always test stain prior to application! The liquid stains can be mixed to achieve intermediate tints. The pigment solution can also be used for tinting sprit and nitro varnishes.

Instructions for use: Dissolve the content in one half pint of hot water and allow solution to cool. Spread the solution thickly and evenly over the watered, ground and dust-free wood using a brush or sponge. After 2 minutes remove superfluous stain with the brush for sponge. Allow the stained surface to dry thoroughly. Then brush it. Always make a test stain. The liquid stains can be mixed.
